Job Description
As part of the Rural Entrepreneurship Development Programme (PRODER) financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) , the Belgian Bankers Academy (BBA) is recruiting four regional experts based in Burundi .
The experts will be deployed in one of the four intervention regions (West, North, Center and South-East) to support the implementation of the Shared Cost Fund (FACP) and to strengthen local capacities in rural entrepreneurship .
PRODER aims to stimulate rural entrepreneurship , promote the creation of decent jobs and support the economic empowerment of young people and women in rural areas of Burundi.
Through the FACP, the program finances and supports the implementation of business plans led by young entrepreneurs , with particular emphasis on:
- the development of agricultural and agri-food sectors ,
- local promotion of agricultural products ,
- financial and social inclusion of women ,
- and the digitalization of monitoring and management tools .
The project aims to sustainably strengthen local economic capacities while fostering an environment conducive to innovation and sustainability in rural areas.
About the position
The expert will act as a specialist in rural entrepreneurship and support for the validation of business plans within the framework of the Rural Entrepreneurship Development Programme (PRODER) financed by IFAD . He/she will contribute to the implementation of the Shared Cost Fund (FACP) and will support the regional structures of PRODER in the selection, support and monitoring of young beneficiary entrepreneurs.

- Supporting regional committees in the analysis, evaluation and validation of business plans submitted to the FACP;
- Supporting young entrepreneurs in the structuring and implementation of their economic projects;
- Identifying training needs and proposing capacity building actions;
- Collecting and consolidating monitoring data on regional activities;
- Contributing to the capitalization of experiences and the production of progress reports;
- Collaborating closely with other thematic experts (gender, finance, digitalization, monitoring and evaluation) to ensure the consistency of the support system.
