Job Description

As part of the Rural Entrepreneurship Development Programme (PRODER) financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) , the Belgian Bankers Academy (BBA) is recruiting a monitoring-evaluation and capitalization expert based in Burundi .




PRODER aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacities of young people and women in rural areas of Burundi, through the implementation of the Shared Cost Fund (FACP) .




This project supports the creation of viable economic activities, promoting financial inclusion and sustainability, while integrating the digitalization of monitoring and reporting to ensure the traceability and effectiveness of interventions.


About the position

The expert will act as a specialist in monitoring and evaluation and capitalization of results within the framework of the PRODER Program financed by IFAD . He/she will support the coordination of the program in the design and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system to ensure reliable collection, rigorous analysis and relevant dissemination of data.

Key Deliverables

  • Implementing monitoring tools and indicators adapted to the FACP;
  • Supporting regional teams in collecting, entering and analyzing data;
  • Producing periodic reports and activity monitoring dashboards ;
  • Ensuring the quality, consistency and traceability of the data collected;
  • Contributing to the capitalization of experiences and the dissemination of good practices;
  • Collaborating with other thematic experts to strengthen the performance of the overall PRODER system.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • University degree (Bac+4 minimum) in statistics, development economics, project management or related disciplines;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects financed by international donors;
  • Mastery of digital tools for data collection and analysis (advanced Excel, KoboToolbox, Power BI, etc.);
  • Experience in developing performance indicators and institutional reporting;
  • Strong analytical, synthesis and report writing skills;
  • Good knowledge of the Burundian context and agricultural or rural projects;
  • Fluency in French (oral and written); knowledge of Kirundi is an asset;
  • Experience in an IFAD- funded project is a major asset.
