Job Description

We are looking for a committed and detail‑oriented Legal Compliance Paralegal to strengthen our supported‑living service. This role is central to ensuring that our organisation consistently meets CQC regulations, supported‑living standards, and all relevant UK care‑sector compliance requirements.

Working closely with the Manager, you will help maintain high‑quality, safe, and legally compliant services. You will support policy development, audit preparation, regulatory documentation, and continuous improvement across the service. This role requires full‑time UK working hours and out‑of‑hours availability, including weekends when needed.

Key Deliverables

Ensure the organisation maintains full compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards, including:

  • Support the development, review, and updating of policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
  • Assist with internal audits, quality assurance checks, and preparation for CQC inspections.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and ensure the organisation adapts to new CQC guidance or sector changes.
  • Draft and maintain compliance documentation, risk assessments, and evidence portfolios.
  • Support incident reviews, investigations, and action plans.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research relevant to supported living and care compliance.
  • Work closely with the Manager to support operational decision‑making and service improvement.
  • Use digital tools (including AI tools such as ChatGPT) to improve efficiency and workflow.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, external bodies, and stakeholders

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Degree in Law, Health & Social Care, Human Resources Management etc with a minimum 2:1.
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations, supported‑living standards, and care‑sector compliance.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong typing ability and confidence using digital tools to enhance productivity.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work full‑time UK hours.
  • Out‑of‑hours availability, including weekends, when required.
  • Ability to work full‑time in the office for the first 3 months, then hybrid (3 days office, 2 days home) subject to a suitable home workspace and reliable internet.
  • Hard‑working, proactive, and able to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
