In support of IMSAf’s ongoing efforts to enhance organisational performance and provide employee development opportunities, the company is pleased to invite applications for a Plant Liason Engineer in the Product Engineering Department.
The incumbent of this role will represent Engineering across all "Completely Knocked Down" (CKD) programs — from Pre-Production through Start of Production (SOP) and during active production — by interfacing with Materials, Manufacturing, and Quality Operations. This role includes collaboration with Systems and Services teams to address concerns identified through root cause analysis and oversee the implementation of effective corrective actions.

Principle areas of accountability include, Pre-Production Build, Product Issue Resolution and Technical Support.
- Provide sound Engineering direction on concerns to support production build
- Assist production in problem resolution including root cause analysis
- Supply advanced Engineering graphics, EPL changes, etc. to support production build
- Verify/monitor Deviation Permit (DP) and Request for Engineering Change (REC) processes, ensuring correct implementation by downstream departments
- To provide assistance to the Systems Engineering Group in conducting ad hoc investigations
- Record status of current production concerns and current field concerns (Eng related)
- Verify vehicles are built to specification
- Initiate and support cost saving initiatives and support divisional cost reduction initiatives by expediting component introductions.

| Engineering And Technical | National Diploma – Mechanical / Electrical Engineering B.Sc / B.Tech / B.Eng – Mechanical / Electrical Engineering {Desirable} Valid driver’s license (minimum B but EC preferred) 3 years practical experience in Automotive Product Engineering Computer literacy: MS Office suite, MS Project and SAP. Fluent in at least two languages – English (required) and Afrikaans (preferred). Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design Familiarity with basic manufacturing processes Basic understanding of Specification and Release terms and systems English oral and written communication skills High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others High degree of planning and creative ability and discipline |
