Your tasks and responsibilities
- Providing technical advice, support and oversight to AutRC WASH projects in the region
- Strenghtening and scaling AutRC strategic objectives through identifying funding opportunities and innovative approaches to WASH
- Contributing to strategic planning of AutRC long-term engagement in East Africa as well to overall programme coordination in the East Africa region
- Representing AutRC in East Africa with a focus on WASH, networking and liaising with movement partners as well as national, regional and international stakeholders
- Strenghtening WASH capacities in the National Societies, amongs other conducting Emergency WASH trainings and leading on integrating gender equality and women empowerment in WASH operations on various levels
- Providing specific country WASH support to Uganda, particularly in refugee settelements focusing on a Triple Nexus approach (bridging Peace Buidling, Development and Humanitarian Interventions)
- Close coordination with local Red Cross partner teams in the HQs and field as well as with AutRC Vienna based project manager and WASH technicians
Your profile
- University or similar education in civil engineering or WASH
- At least 5 years experience in the WASH sector - long term and emergency response
- Additional experience in other WASH fields, e.g. faecal sludge management, women equality in WASH and hygiene promotion is a strong asset.
- Experience in WASH projects within the Red Cross Movement is a strong asset
- Experience in general project management and financial management of projects
- Experience in East Africa is an asset
- Valid driving license is an asset
- Ability to work under pressure in a diverse team
- Very good English verbal and written communication skills, German and local Uganda languages are an asset
- Strongly motivated by humanitarian and development work, and high sensitivity to diversity and local culture

- Compensation: min € 4.055.- (gross/month) depending on qualification and experience
