Scope of Work

The Head of Academics is responsible for working together with the Principal to ensure that IPSK is managed in a way that meets service standards that students expect including the other relevant requirements. The Head of Academics is responsible for ensuring that all IPSK programs have the required number of students and that staff/lecturer workload is well distributed to safeguard the finances of the Institution.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee the teaching and assessment of students work;
• Planning and conduction of Academic Registration, Course Scheduling, Classroom scheduling, Degree and honors Certifications, transfer, credit evaluation and articulation;
• Manage post-registration processes, including administering changes in enrolment, maintaining class records, processing grade recording and reporting, and the interpretation and application of Academic rules and regulations;
• Organize and coordinate the Orientation and training of new Students.
• Preparing and sharing the required timetables and teaching loads in liaison with the Principal ensuring optimal workloads are allocated to teachers in accordance to National Council for Higher education guidelines;
• Ensuring that the required Teaching Plans are developed by the Lecturers and, shared with the Students and collate other Academic Staff plans ensuring a match between planned and actual teaching content, scope and coverage; initiating critical measures for staff adherence and correction in the event of shortfalls;
• Take the lead in Commencement activities including distribution of Academic Calendar and Final Examination schedules;
• Coordination of Students’ grades (both Coursework and Final Assessment marks) including verification and correction of grades, and printing and distribution of Student’ Result slips in the ERP;

Qualifications

Education / Qualifications / Training required

Essential: Holder of a recognised Master’s degree qualification in Education, Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), Management, or a related field.
Desirable: A expert knowledge of Oil and Gas Management would be a plus

Previous work experience required:

Essential: Minimum of five (05) years supervising a busy team in a public or private sector environment
Desirable: Progressive work experience within an Education institution
